Using a PT100 RTD sensor
A PT100 is a platinum resistance sensor that reads 100 ohm at 0 °C. It is more accurate and stable than a thermocouple at lower process temperatures, which is why it is used for water, oil, food and HVAC processes. Set the temperature controller input to PT100 and use the 3-wire connection if the controller supports it, so the cable resistance does not affect the reading.
