LRS: The workhorse enclosed SMPS for panels, CCTV and LED; LRS-150/350/600 have a 115/230 V switch, set it to 230 V.
RS: Low-cost enclosed SMPS for small control and signal loads.
RSP: Higher-power enclosed SMPS with active PFC for machines and large loads.
MDR: Compact DIN-rail SMPS for PLC and sensor supplies in small panels.
HDR: Ultra-slim DIN-rail SMPS that fits distribution-board style enclosures.
EDR: Economical 120 W DIN-rail SMPS.
NDR: Slim 240–480 W DIN-rail SMPS with active PFC.
SDR: High-power 960 W DIN-rail SMPS with PFC and DC OK relay.
WDR: DIN-rail SMPS for 180–550 V two-line supplies.
TDR: DIN-rail SMPS that runs from a 340–550 V three-phase supply.

How to choose an SMPS

Output voltage: 24 V DC for PLCs and sensors, 12 V for CCTV and LED, 5 V or 48 V for specific devices.
Current with headroom: add up the load current and allow about 25% spare.
Mounting: DIN rail inside control panels; enclosed for plate mounting.
Input supply: most series need single-phase AC; choose TDR for three-phase or WDR for a two-line 180–550 V supply.

Frequently asked questions

Which SMPS series should I choose for a control panel?

For a DIN-rail panel choose MDR or HDR for small loads, EDR for an economical 120 W, NDR for 240–480 W, and TDR if you only have a three-phase supply. For a box-type (enclosed) supply mounted on a plate, LRS is the usual choice. Our SMPS selection guide walks through sizing.

What is the price of a 24V 5A SMPS?

A 24 V 5 A (120 W) DIN-rail SMPS costs ₹1,560 (RPS120-24) and ₹2,230 (EDR-120-24) on Voltkart, including GST. Enclosed 24 V supplies start lower; see the Mean Well SMPS price list for every model.

DIN rail or enclosed SMPS?

DIN-rail SMPS clip onto the 35 mm rail next to MCBs and relays and are the norm in control panels. Enclosed (box) SMPS such as LRS screw to a panel plate, cost less per watt and suit CCTV, LED and machine supplies.
