An AC drive (VFD, variable frequency drive) controls the speed of a three-phase motor by varying the output frequency, saving energy on pumps and fans and giving a soft start on conveyors and machines. How to choose a VFD

Supply: single-phase 230 V input (output 3-phase 230 V) or three-phase 415 V input.
Motor current: the drive's rated output current must be at or above the motor full-load current; go one size up for heavy starting loads.
Series: EL / EL-W for simple V/f speed control; MS300 for sensorless vector control, PM motors, Safe Torque Off or a built-in PLC.
Protection: feed the drive through a suitably rated MCB or fuses as the Delta manual specifies.

What is the price of a 1 HP VFD?

On Voltkart a 1 HP (0.75 kW) Delta VFD costs from ₹8,180 for single-phase 230 V input (VFD007EL21W-1) and from ₹13,300 for three-phase 415 V input (VFD007EL43A), including GST.

Which Delta series should I choose, EL or MS300?

The EL series (including EL-W) is a compact V/f drive with a built-in EMI filter and Modbus, suited to pumps, fans and simple conveyors. MS300 adds sensorless vector control, permanent-magnet motor support, built-in Safe Torque Off and a built-in PLC, for machines that need better low-speed torque or simple logic in the drive.

Can I run a three-phase motor from a single-phase supply?

Yes. The single-phase input models (EL21, EL21W, MS21) take 1-phase 220–240 V and output 3-phase, so they can run a 3-phase motor wound for 230 V (usually delta connection). They do not output 415 V.

How do I size a VFD?

Choose a drive whose rated output current is at or above the motor full-load current on the nameplate, and whose input matches your supply. For heavy starting loads such as conveyors or crushers, pick one size up. Send us the nameplate on WhatsApp if you are unsure.
