How much does a VFD cost by HP?
For Delta compact drives on Voltkart, the price depends on three things: motor rating, supply, and series. Single-phase input drives cost ₹7,380–₹18,600 (0.5–3 HP), and three-phase 415 V input drives cost ₹13,300–₹28,500 (1–10 HP). EL and MS300 prices are close, so compare both at your rating: MS300 adds sensorless vector control, permanent-magnet motor support, Safe Torque Off and a built-in PLC, yet at some ratings it is the lower price. For example, at 1 HP three-phase the EL drive is ₹13,300 and the MS300 is ₹14,400. At 5 HP the EL is ₹21,900 and the MS300 is ₹19,900. Above 5 HP we stock the MS300 at 7.5 HP (₹27,500) and 10 HP (₹28,500). All prices include GST and are read from the live store on the date at the top of this page.
Delta EL vs MS300: which series should you buy?
| EL / EL-W | MS300 | |
|---|---|---|
| Control | V/f (scalar) | V/f, sensorless vector (SVC), FOC for PM motors |
| Motors | Induction motors | Induction or permanent-magnet motors |
| Built in | EMI filter, RFI switch, DC injection braking, Modbus RTU | Safe Torque Off (STO), PLC up to 2K steps, Modbus RTU; optional fieldbus cards |
| Ratings here | 0.5–5 HP · ₹7,380–₹21,900 | 1–10 HP · ₹11,130–₹28,500 |
| Best for | Pumps, fans, blowers, simple conveyors | Machines needing low-speed torque, PM motors, safety stop or logic in the drive |
Choose EL or EL-W when the job is simple speed control of a pump, fan or blower. Choose MS300 when the machine needs good torque at low speed, runs a permanent-magnet motor, needs a hard-wired safe stop (STO), or would benefit from simple ladder logic inside the drive instead of a separate relay or PLC.
Single-phase or three-phase input?
Single-phase input models (EL21A, EL21W, MS21) take 220–240 V single-phase and output three-phase 230 V. They are the usual choice in workshops and small units that only have a single-phase supply, and they can run a three-phase motor connected for 230 V, usually in delta. They do not step the voltage up to 415 V. Three-phase input models (EL43A, MS43) take 380–480 V three-phase and drive standard 415 V motors. Check the motor nameplate: a motor marked 230/400 V can run from a single-phase drive in delta or a three-phase drive in star.
How to read a Delta VFD model number
- EL series: VFD007EL43A means 0.75 kW (007), EL series, 460 V-class three-phase input (43). 21 means 230 V-class single-phase input, as in VFD007EL21A or the EL-W variant VFD007EL21W-1.
- MS300 series: VFD4A2MS43ANSAA means 4.2 A rated output current (4A2), MS300 series, 460 V-class three-phase input (43). VFD17AMS43ANSAA is 17 A.
What else do you need with a VFD?
Feed the drive through the input protection the Delta manual specifies, usually an MCB or fuses rated for the drive's input current. Do not put a contactor between the drive output and the motor for routine starting and stopping; start and stop from the drive's own run command. For sizing by motor current and load type, or comparing a VFD with a soft starter, see the AC drives range and AC drive vs VFD.

Frequently asked questions
What is the price of a 1 HP VFD in India?
On Voltkart a genuine Delta 1 HP (0.75 kW) VFD costs from ₹8,180 with single-phase 230 V input and from ₹13,300 with three-phase 415 V input, including GST.
What is the price of a 5 HP VFD?
A Delta 5 HP (3.7 kW) three-phase input VFD costs ₹19,900–₹21,900 on Voltkart, including GST, depending on EL or MS300 series.
Which is better, Delta EL or MS300?
Neither is better for every job. EL suits pumps and fans that only need simple V/f control; MS300 adds sensorless vector control, PM motor support, Safe Torque Off and a built-in PLC. Prices are close and at some ratings MS300 is cheaper, so compare both in the table.
Does a single-phase input VFD give 415 V output?
No. Single-phase 230 V input drives output three-phase 230 V, so the motor must be connected for 230 V (usually delta). For 415 V motors use a three-phase 415 V input drive.
Do you supply genuine Delta drives with a GST invoice?
Yes. Voltkart supplies genuine Delta drives from stock with a GST invoice and pan-India dispatch. Prices on this page are read from our live store on the date shown.
