Frequently asked questions

What is a multi-output SMPS?

A single power supply with two, three or four isolated or common-ground DC outputs, for example 5 V for logic and 12 V or 24 V for relays and fans. It saves panel space and wiring compared with separate supplies.

What do the A, B, C and D suffixes mean?

They select the output voltages. For example RD-65A gives 5 V and 12 V, RD-65B gives 5 V and 24 V, and the triple-output RT-65C gives 5 V, +15 V and -15 V. Check the voltages in the table before ordering.

Can I take full current from every output at once?

Not always. The total load must stay within the supply’s rated wattage, and each output has its own maximum current. Mean Well’s datasheet lists the allowed combinations.
